Gingerbread Houses 2008

Every year Miss Pat comes for the Annual Gingerbread House Day. (It probably should be named Junk Food Day as the amount of candy, icing and other naughty foods that are eaten is terrible!) Everyone has their own house too and it gets really crazy! There are themes to be decided, tons of extra candy to buy and the list goes on....

Here is a partial picture of the candy decorations. SCARY!

The crew is ready to begin!

Mr Serious (at least serious about candy eating)

Miss Sneaky - she is my sugar gal!

Major decisions to be made....

This is hard work - better take a break!!

The Planner

and here they are at the end of a very 'hard' day

One interesting thing to note - these are obviously 'MAGICAL' houses as by the time Dec 25 arrives all the candy has disappeared. No one knows a thing about it......

Liendo Plantation - 11-21-08

This was a great field trip - one that even Dad got to go with us!

The battle on Friday wasnt as grand as the weekend ones but it was still loud and exciting!

Here we learned all the medical procedures that one could encounter if sick or injured.

Lunch anyone??

Thats our kind of coffee pot - BIG!

This was great fun! It happens every year in Hempstead, TX.

Catching Up

Well we are a little behind getting this blog posted. After a trip to East Texas to visit our Grandma Nell - we had grand plans last fall after a trip to show our silly stops along the way.

1) Great-Grandma Nell is the BEST!!

2) Not sure what this building will be - we couldnt get any closer but it is funny!

3) These next 3 photos are at a landscape shop just north of Diboll. The are fiberglass.

4) This is at the Diboll library. Her globe actually lights up at night.

5) This is at the Corrigan VFW which is north of town.

6) This hay turkey is in the middle of Corrigan. It is right by the only red light in town. There were actually 2 of these next to each other.

7) After a hard day of tourist attractions, we had to stop at our FAVORITE 2pm - 4pm place in Shepherd!!
