Flashback

I was going thru some old photos and came across these of my Grandma and Pappaw. Pics like this always remind me how there wasnt many days of lounging around. They were always doing something - which is probably why everyone stayed out of trouble : )

This pic of my Grandma is of her shelling pecans. She had a huge pecan tree out back but she also had a huge network of friends who she could also go and pick pecans. I wish I had a pic of us shelling peas. We would sit with clothes baskets full of fresh picked peas and shell for hours.

I wish I knew what this was - my guess is some kind of squash but its big for sure. My Pappaw always had a garden - usually big. Lots of peas, tomatoes, watermelons, etc. Yum Yum!

Run Run Run!

The boys have been in an 8 week run class this summer. Every Friday, they have been training at Knox track. The last class was a 5K at Tamarac Park in The Woodlands. A first for our 3 guys. They all finished and had great times!!

Andrew is on the right - he is running with Aubrey & Luke.

Raymond and Adam are middle and right.

All is Well!!

I stayed up late to clear out the girls room - all furniture, carpet and every tiny piece of toy they have lost. I wanted the room empty and ready for the new floor. I walk by this morning and caught color out of the corner of my eye - gee who went and messed up this 'clean' room. Once I saw what it was, how could I care - just a sweet little reminder that all is well : )

We FINALLY Did It!!

We spent the afternoon making cow costumes for Chick-fa-la's Cow Appreciation Day. Anyone dress in cow attire received a free meal - food, fries and a drink. For a large family like ours - its a BIG treat. The 'Big Daddy' of the herd was working so we had to venture out on our own. The oldest child of the bunch almost didnt go - he thought about if he was more embarassed or more hungry. When your 12, food usually wins!

Grandpa Came to Town

Grandpa came in from AZ for the week. The kids were on cloud 9!! We were able to hang out and eat a lot of good food (seems that is what we do best), visit with lots of friends, tour the Bush Library in Bryan and hear lots of stories : ) We were also lucky to meet Grandpas friend Bonnie from AZ too. It was a great week!!
